Abstract

The uncertainty set refers to the fluctuation range of wind power output in a certain confidence probability. In robust dispatch, the selection of an uncertainty set has a great influence on economy and robustness. To obtain a reasonable uncertainty set, we convert the robustness into risk cost by calculating the wind power curtailment and load shedding. Taking the comprehensive cost (the sum of the generation cost and risk cost) as the objective function, the uncertainty set optimization model is established in this paper, which is solved by a two-level optimization algorithm. The inner layer is the process of solving the robust dispatch model by an interior point method. The outer layer is the process of searching the optimal uncertainty set by a genetic algorithm. The proposed method resolves the conflict between economy and robustness by the optimization of the uncertainty set. The effectiveness is verified through the case study of a 10-unit system.
