MDA, MOF, meta-model, EDOC
The MDA is being introduced to cope with the heterogeneity of middleware platforms. The MDA places models at the core of portability and interoperability solutions. The OMG has defined the terms PIM and PSM but platform independence is a relative concept. In other words, PIM and PSM are not fixed and models can be defined variously. Thus to support MDA, diverse models should be able to be defined and diverse graphical editors that can build these models are needed. In this paper, we propose an environment that supports defining diverse MOF-based meta-models and automatically generating tools based on the meta-models. And we apply this to an example based on the EDOC.
