Object-Oriented Frameworks, Composition, Design
Although frameworks are popular, many aspects of framework development are still hard to understand. Framework composition promises to build frameworks with new functionality from existing ones but it is hard to execute the composition systematically. This paper presents a new approach for reasoning about framework composition in terms of the involved frameworks. The model allows us to show in advance what part of the frameworks' design should be affected and provides tools for reasoning about the behavior of the resulting framework.
