In order to use agent technology for implementing complex software systems, widely available software platforms are as crucial as methods to support their interoperability. The paper discusses the concepts of a system that combines the benefits of the two most accepted standards in the agent world, namely FIPA and MASIF, into a platform that permits the interac tion as well as migration of agents from both worlds. Additionally, an implementation based on the FIPA OS implementation of the FIPA standard is described.
