E-learning presents a lot of benefits and has many new characteristics. For example one urgent issue in e-learning is that students can not get immediate help when they do their assignments and exercises. Although email and consultation can partially deal with the problem, they are not efficient and effective. In this paper we present a heuristic question based model for e-learning. It can be considered as an on-line study helper, a recommendation guide, and a handy tutor. A system can be built on this model to solve issues arising from learner-focused e learning environments. Our experiences in some subjects teaching proved that this model is much appreciated.
