Abstract

Teachers need to efficiently identify appropriate digital learning resources (learning objects). The Learning Object Review Instrument (LORI), available through www.eLera.net, provides an effective tool for evaluating learning objects. The reviews, in turn, facilitate teachers' searches, and provide a means of developing best practices in learning object development. However, work with teachers has also highlighted the importance of localized metadata mappable to standardized global metadata that is meaningful to each community of users.
