Pole placement, uncertain systems, genetic algorithms, flexible transmission system
A robust pole placement controller design method is presented for discrete-time systems with parametric uncertainties contained within known bounds. The method is quite straightforward; it is based on using genetic algorithms to search for a controller that minimizes a cost function that takes into account the performance specifications, and thus allows for a thorough assessment of robust performance in addition to robust stability. Simulation results with a flexible transmission system show that this is an effective technique with a great deal of potential.
