optical burst switching, quality of service, proportional ser vice differentiation
Optical Burst Switching (OBS) has been proposed to be a promising switching technology for the next optical trans port network. In this paper, a simple and efficient schedul ing scheme with Quality of Service (QoS) support is in troduced to handle data bursts due to their priorities in bufferless OBS networks. The scheme use our proposed Dynamic Data Channel Selection (DDCS) technology to adjust the candidate wavelengths of each class dynami cally. Simulation results show controllable and predicable proportional service differentiation can be achieved. We also compare DDCS scheme with conventional dropping scheme to conclude that DDCS scheme has better perfor mance.
