This paper demonstrates through simulations that arrays of Ultra-wideband emitters show significant differences compared to conventional arrays excited with sinusoids. Simulations indicate a substantial reduction in sidelobe levels and elimination of “grating lobes” as experienced with arrays using sinusoidal input signals. Estimates are provided for the improvement in range with varying numbers in Ultra-Wideband arrays.
