Abstract

In this paper, a Kalman filter implementation is pro posed for multiuser detection on long code asyn chronous CDMA systems. The general Pulse Am plitude Modulation (PAM) problem is cast in a state space form. Through a decoupling technique, separate Kalman filters are run to demodulate each user while interference cancellation is implemented in the innovation term. This decoupling greatly reduces the computational load. An interpretation in terms of signal-tonoise-plus-uncancelled-interference-ratio is given. A numerical example demonstrates the technique.
