Middleware, interoperability, Quality of Service
With the increasing presence of the Internet in today’s applications, ranging from legacy enterprise systems to handheld devices and home appliances, there is an increasing need for a generic middleware that can enable the interoperability between wireless applications and traditional enterprise and embedded systems. This paper is the result of an initial investigation into the requirements for such a middleware and possible approaches towards its implementation.
