Wavelength Routing, Photonic Packet Switching, InbandCrosstalk, Arrayed Waveguide Grating
Crosstalk accumulates as optical packets pass through imperfect WDM components, resulting in performance degradation. In this paper, we investigate and analyze how inband crosstalk is generated and accumulated in wavelength-routing based photonic packet buffers (WRPPB’s). It is found that the number of inband crosstalk arising from the WRPPB buffer can be approximated by a binomial distribution. The impact of inband crosstalk on the bit-error-rate performance is also examined.
