Abstract

The capacities of standard single mode fiber (SSMF) and non-zero dispersion shifted fiber links (NZDSF) are compared for tightly spaced wavelength division multiplexed configurations. System performances at 10 Gb/s are compared for a 50 and 25 GHz of carrier frequency spacings and show that SSMF performance is superior at narrow channel spacings.
