This paper presents a system to describe the dynamic behavior of virtual objects using components and data flows, as well as an authoring process based upon this behavior description. Our authoring system involves a graphical tool, a XML based serialization and the possibility to connect several established middleware components like 3D engines or physics engines. We propose a basic set of components necessary to create complex object behavior. Within a preliminary user study, we showed the general utilizability of the implemented approach.
