Abstract

The primary objective for systems with uncertain parameters is to efficiently calculate the feasible interval of the controller. The conventional graphical approach typically restricts the system by limiting the margin and then determines the range of values for the controller parameter. However, these methods often overlook the coupling between amplitude margin and phase margin (PM) when considering their individual effects on the system. To address this issue, the present study proposes a graphical approach to design the controller based on maximum sensitivity (MS). Firstly, parameters of the uncertain system are discussed, and the boundary systems are used to replace the original system. Then, for each boundary system, the graph solution of its controller is calculated based on the preset maximum sensitivity. Finally, the graph solutions of all boundary system controllers are combined, and the overlapping part is the value interval of controller parameters of uncertain system. This method effectively calculates such intervals and resolves aforementioned coupling problems. Two simulation examples are provided to validate its effectiveness.
