Characteristic-based algorithm, relativistic boundary conditions, characteristic variable boundary conditions
Electromagnetic pulses reflected and radiated from moving infinite perfectly conducting planes and sheet current sources are numer- ically simulated in one-dimensional models and presented in this paper. The time-domain Maxwell curl equations are numerically solved by the characteristic-based algorithm in conjunction with the application of relativistic and characteristic variable boundary con- ditions. The perfect conductor and current source may constantly travel and sinusoidally vibrate simultaneously. Both reflected and radiated electric fields and corresponding spectra are demonstrated and investigated by the exact Doppler shift values for the scheme ac- curacy. The computational results are found to have good agreement with the theoretical values.
